Things To Do…

We are open for business on March 7th!

Guests visiting Leazes Head should take the time to visit Hexham and the Abbey. The Abbey is over 1300 years old and now has a museum with lots of interesting artefacts.

The Saxon Crypt is well worth a visit, there are little rooms, and tunnels from Wilfrid’s original church. You can also get a cup of tea and slice of cake in the new cafe.

On March 25th-26th, Hexham is having an Easter Spring Fair in the Mart.

Not many visitors to Hexham know that it boasts a lovely little cinema called The Forum. Not only will it be showing the latest releases like Dad’s Army but is also shows The Royal Opera House; Boris Godunov, The Royal Ballet- Giselle and The National Theatre Live: As You Like It.

Not Just Hadrian’s Wall!

Many of our guests who come here are touring the area and while we think Hadrian’s Wall is awesome, there is just so much to see and do in the area.

If music is your thing, go to see a local band. There are many excellent performers in local clubs and pubs in the region. Ents24 list all the events in the region.

The Cluny in Newcastle is a live music venue for up-and-coming bands. Mumford and Sons, Seasick Steve and Arctic Monkeys have all played The Cluny.

I am very sorry to have missed the opportunity to see The Springsteen Sessions on 6th February and as a huge Springsteen fan it would have been great to hear his music played live.

I’m hoping that I can see one of my fav bands from Brighton playing up in Newcastle soon. The band Warsaw Radio have released a couple of new singles recently and I particularly love their latest ‘Down By The Sea’. If you’re in Ireland over half term you can see them in Dublin,Cork and Limerick.  I would love to see them playing in the Crown at Humshaugh on their brilliant folk nights…….you never know…..watch this space!
